County accepts $2,680 wellness grant to expand employee wellness program

Deputy Administrator Leanne Dickey presented a proposal to formalize an Employee Wellness Program using Wellness Works through the Maine Municipal Employee Health Trust; the program would include classes on healthy choices, cooking demonstrations, wellness awards and emotional and spiritual wellness supports. Dickey said funding is available through the trust to launch the program.
Commissioner Cyp Johnson moved to accept a $2,680 Somerset County Employee Wellness Grant; Commissioner John Alsop seconded and the motion carried 3-0, recorded as Resolution 24-162. The grant acceptance authorizes county staff to proceed with program setup under the terms indicated by the trust and local administration.
