Kingsbury County certifies election results, schedules post‑election audit for June 16

County Auditor Echo Steffensen presented the General Election results to the Board and led the canvass, comparing poll books, recap totals, poll pad voter totals and tabulator results. The Board found the totals accurate for each precinct and approved the canvass on a motion by Commissioner Troy Nelson, seconded by Commissioner Corey Lundquist. The Certificate for the State of South Dakota was signed by the Board of Canvassers.
For the post‑election audit, Badger Precinct was selected from a random draw. The statewide race to be audited will be the Governor’s race, with an additional audit of the U.S. Senate race. The audit was scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 9:00 A.M.
