Commissioner recuses from sign vote over affiliation with local business
Summary

At the start of the June 17 meeting, City Manager Dan Jessen asked commissioners to declare conflicts of interest. Jessen noted Commissioner Andy Nelson had a conflict on Item 4, the Conditional Use Permit for the commercial sign, because of his affiliation with a business in the commercial subdivision the sign would serve. Nelson confirmed he would recuse himself from the vote; the minutes record the recusal and that the motion carried with Nelson recused.
The commission otherwise reported no conflicts and proceeded with the meeting. Staff recorded the recusal in the minutes, and the CUP motion was carried by the remaining commissioners. No additional ethics findings or recusals were recorded.
