Kingsbury County approves $789,468 draw and $7,661 change order for 425th Ave. paving

Kingsbury County commissioners on June 4 approved Draw Request No. 3 for the 425th Ave. paving project, authorizing payment of $789,468.16 and allowing the chairman to sign the draw documents. Auditor Echo Steffensen presented the breakdown: $757,057.34 to Asphalt Paving, $29,540.00 to Civil Design, and $2,870.82 to Kingsbury Electric.
Civil designer Andrew Kangas also presented Change Order No. 1 to modify an 18‑inch culvert and remove a beaver dam, increasing the project cost by $7,661.43. Commissioner Troy Nelson moved to approve the change order and Commissioner Steve Spilde seconded; all present voted aye and Highway Superintendent Dave Sorenson was authorized to sign the change order on the county’s behalf.
The approvals complete an interim payment and an authorized field modification for the ongoing project; the Board did not discuss further funding contingencies at the meeting.
