Council sets April town hall and plans outreach on noise draft

After extensive discussion, the council agreed to solicit public input before adopting an ordinance. Chair S3 and staff S1 agreed the town should post the draft on the council web page and publicize the meeting on social media and in local press. "I'll put it at the top, and then it'll just say draft of public hearing date to be, announced," S2 said about web posting.
The council set a town hall for April 23 at 5:30 p.m. and discussed limits: speakers will be limited to three minutes each. Staff S1 agreed to prepare a redlined draft that removes or adjusts language (including an "essential music" clause) and to draft a permit form and fee schedule for related ordinances. The council also discussed conducting outreach that includes both resident and business perspectives.
