Auditor corrects minutes to include omitted plats; Board schedules canvass and approves vacation payout

County Auditor Echo Steffensen told the Board that resolutions were omitted from the April 21 and May 19 minutes and read the following: Resolution #2026-7 (Plat of Ash Grove Addition), Resolution #2026-9 (Whitewood Storage Addition), and Resolution #2026-10 (Lots 1 and 2 of Outlot 20). The Board moved to correct those minutes to include the omitted resolutions and approved the corrections unanimously.
Steffensen also read and the Board adopted Resolution #2026-12 approving the Plat of Lake Preston Cemetery Second Addition. The Auditor requested approval to pay out 1,164.36 hours of vacation leave and 14.08 hours of compensatory time to the former deputy auditor; the Board approved the payout by motion. Steffensen noted the Governor runoff election is July 28, 2026, and the Board set the canvass for Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 8:30 A.M. Steffensen reported that the post-election audit matched tabulator counts.
