Kingsbury County approves multiple right-of-way occupancies for fiber and power projects

The Kingsbury County Board of County Commissioners on June 18 unanimously approved multiple Applications for Occupancy on county rights of way to allow utility work including fiber and electric line placement.
An East River Electric Cooperative application to place a 115 kV electric transmission line and OPGW 48-count fiber on CR 11 was presented to the Board and approved. Jerae Wire of East River explained that the cooperative hires a third-party surveyor to determine pole placement and that the statutory right of way may differ from measured right-of-way due to shifting roads over time. The motion to approve the East River occupancy was made by Spilde and seconded by Lundquist and passed with all present voting aye.
Separately, the Board approved an Application for Occupancy from Valley Fibercom on 441st Ave, two applications from Sioux Valley Energy on CR 6 (218th) and CR 10, and an application from Kingsbury Electric on CR 13; all work was described as to be bored. The Board also approved utilities and right-of-way certificates for Project PH 6312(22) and authorized the Chairman to sign the documents. Motions for the various permit approvals were recorded as unanimous votes.
The approvals clear the way for utility crews to proceed under the county's right-of-way rules; the Board did not record any conditions or dissent tied to the motions.
