Kingsbury County lifts burn ban and adopts Local Emergency Operations Plan

Emergency Manager Kristen Longville told the Kingsbury County Board that conditions supported lifting the current burn ban and recommended doing so. "Longville recommended lifting the current burn ban," the minutes record. The Board adopted the recommendation by motion (Spilde/Nelson); all present voted aye.
Longville also presented the Basic Plan for the Kingsbury County Local Emergency Operations Plan for Board approval. Motion by Nelson, second by Spilde to approve the plan carried unanimously. Longville reviewed the quarterly LEMPG matrix and provided quotes for 911 communications work (an $8,622.18 estimate for the east 911 tower and an $11,412.93 quote to upgrade the 911 line to fiber), which she said she would include in the 2027 911 budget request; the Board asked the Auditor to review available funds and revisit the items at the June 4 meeting.
