The Kingsbury County Board on May 19 voted to proceed with a mastic pavement installation on 441st Street at a maximum cost of $150,000.00 after Highway Superintendent Dave Sorenson recommended using a Perkins County piggyback bid; the motion carried unanimously (mover: Lundquist, second: Walls).
Sorenson also reported the county received a state transportation study grant on an 80/20 cost share and estimated total project costs around $180,000, putting the county's share at roughly $36,000 until final grant paperwork is completed. The Board approved proceeding with the study at a maximum county cost of $50,000.00 and appointed a three-member committee including Sorenson, Chairman Kyle Lee and Commissioner Roger Walls.
