Residents raise conservation-area, drainage and speed-sign concerns at River Ridge meeting

During the public comment portion and supervisors’ requests, residents raised several operational concerns. Resident Anita Bachragh asked that a downed tree by River 9 Catch Basin #134 be stood upright and questioned whether the conservation area needed further clearing; Operations Manager Mr. Willis said staff would review past minutes and that the area was engaged with a contractor and remains in compliance, and Mrs. Adams asked Ms. Bachragh to provide photos so staff could review the request.
Resident Christine Mantilia asked about stormwater management permits and whether fire trucks could draw water from the lakes to lower levels; Mr. Krebs said this is not typical because it could pull plants and fish into equipment and would require approval from the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). Resident Larry Fiesel asked about the speed-sign project; Mr. Willis said Mr. Long is scheduling staff training and will provide an update at the next meeting.
