The board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1) on Aug. 27, 2024. Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and the board discussed outreach to solicit candidates to fill the unexpired term. Staff and a board consensus instructed Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager to send an e-blast notifying residents about the vacancy, candidate qualification requirements and asking interested residents to submit a resume or letter before the next meeting.
Because the appointment will fill a vacancy rather than an election, the board discussed administering the oath of office and providing required ethics training materials (Sample Form 1, Guide to Sunshine Amendment, Form 8B). On motion by Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Robert Twombly, the board unanimously accepted Mr. Gilman’s resignation.
