Engineer says stormwater system held but resident reports possible mold from standing water

District Engineer Charlie Krebs reported the Pinehurst valley gutter inlet grate replacement project is about 80% complete and described system performance after Tropical Storm Debbie: "Parts of the community received almost 8” of rain in two or three days and the roads are designed for 5½” of rain over a 24-hour period," he said, noting the systems reached capacity but flowed unobstructed.
A resident said standing water is coming up through their slab and causing mold in their unit. Mr. Krebs recalled prior comments that standing water has been an ongoing occurrence at that location and said he does not believe the standing water was the cause of the resident’s mold issue because other units did not report similar problems. Chair Bob Schultz asked that Mr. Long address the matter at the next meeting.
