Board reviews Traffic Calming Assessment; radar signs arriving in February

Charlie Krebs reviewed the Tier 1 and Tier 2 traffic calming strategies in the draft Traffic Calming Assessment 2025 and described initial education-based measures already underway. Mr. Krebs said that "Three permanent and one mobile speed radar signs will be delivered throughout the property the first week in February," and that speeding violations have decreased following early interventions.
Eric Long asked Mr. Krebs to update Page 9 of the report to include the Traffic Study conclusion and asked Board members to let him or Chair Bob Schultz know of any additional areas to consider. The board discussed possible 'Do not pass golf cart' signs at the front entrance and crosswalks, and noted Pelican Sound's board is considering modifying traffic-violation terms in its bylaws. Staff also discussed community outreach including Safety Saturday events.
