Chair postpones Pittsburgh hearing on liquor-license transfer; public notice to include placard on premises

Pittsburgh City Council opened a public hearing on July 28, 2026 for Bill 2026-0606, a resolution seeking approval to transfer a liquor license from McCrossin's Landing Pub LLC in Monongahela to Silver Ashes Hospitality Group LLC at 728 Copeland Street in Pittsburgh. The Clerk read the bill on the record, identifying the applicant and premises and citing the Pennsylvania Liquor Code: "Resolution requesting the approval of an inter municipal transfer of a liquor license from McCrossin's Landing Pub LLC located at 13 Edsel Lane, Monongahela, PA to the applicant, Silver Ashes Hospitality Group LLC located at 728 Copeland Street, Pittsburgh 15232. Pursuant to amend to amended Pennsylvania liquor code statute 4 dash 4 6 1."

The Chair told the hearing the council will extend the usual 45-day review period and take action at the council's next meeting to waive the timing rules so the hearing can be rescheduled. "And we will, we will waive those rules at our council meeting this coming Monday and then, reschedule this public hearing after, public notice sufficient public notice is given in the form of a placard on the premises," the Chair said, adding the hearing will be scheduled after the council's August recess. The Chair framed the move as a procedural step to ensure public notice requirements are met before the transfer hearing resumes.

No vote on the transfer occurred at the hearing. After completing the reading and the procedural announcement, the Clerk adjourned the session.
