Loami plans free 'Christmas in the Park' celebration Dec. 12

Clerk Carissa Grider told trustees that the Village of Loami’s "Christmas in the Park" celebration will take place on Dec. 12 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Planned activities include horse-drawn carriage rides, a free hot meal at the Fire Department, Santa’s attendance, pictures with Santa at the Community Center, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies, and vendor booths at the Community Center.
Grider said this year’s fundraisers were very successful and, because of community generosity, all activities and offerings will be provided at no cost to attendees. The village will rely on volunteers and existing staff for event operations; no additional budget appropriations were recorded during the meeting.
The board adopted routine items and adjourned; the community event is scheduled to occur the following weekend as described.
