Board hires middle and elementary principals, tables high school principal; accepts three resignations
Summary

Following an executive session held under Okla. Stat. Tit. 25, § 307(B)(1), the Salina Board of Education returned to open session and took personnel actions on Feb. 9. The board voted to table consideration of hiring a high school principal for the 2026–27 school year. The minutes record that no votes were taken during executive session and that only the listed items were discussed while in closed session.
The board then approved hiring Amanda Walsh as Middle School Principal for 2026–2027 (motion by Leroy Monk, seconded by Jarred Sorum) and Julie Atchley as Elementary Principal for 2026–2027 (motion by Leroy Monk, seconded by Casey McWhirt). Both motions passed with the four attending board members voting yes and Vice‑President Greg Rice recorded as absent.
In the same meeting the board accepted letters of resignation from three district employees: Jerry Barnett, effective May 29, 2026; Victor Holleyman IV, effective June 30, 2026; and Crystal Pritchett, effective July 1, 2026. The motion to accept the resignations was made by Leroy Monk and seconded by Jackie Ball and passed with the recorded votes reflecting one absence (Rice).
