Town Hall weatherization scope revised after structural assessment; MERP funding to be reallocated as needed

A structural assessment found the Town Hall ceiling cannot tolerate the originally planned MERP weatherization; the Selectboard accepted the report, amended the scope to non-structural work, and authorized repurposing unused funds for other qualifying projects. A structural assessment of the Tunbridge Town Hall ceiling concluded the building will not tolerate the originally planned weatherization work funded by the MERP grant. The contractor will complete work that does not affect the ceiling structure, replace disturbed insulation, and the Selectboard accepted the report and amended the scope of work accordingly.
Maryann Caron told the board unused funding can be repurposed for other qualifying requests that could not be funded via the original MERP scope; Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Commission (TRORC) will coordinate bids for remaining qualifying items. The minutes note deadlines are currently around December; the State has indicated it may grant extensions if needed because of workforce shortages. The board approved accepting the report and amending the scope (motion by Mike McPhetres; John O'Brien seconded).
