The Selectboard adopted a revised Release & Waiver of Liability for Tunbridge volunteers on June 9. The updated form broadens release language to cover use of power tools and volunteer work for the Town in general, requires volunteers to confirm tools are in good working order and that they will use proper personal protective equipment, and includes a copy of 24 VSA 901a regarding the Town's duty to defend volunteers in the same manner as employees.
Mike McPhetres moved to adopt the volunteer waiver form; John O'Brien seconded and the motion passed. In discussion John O'Brien suggested the Selectboard might revisit whether the form should include an expiration date. The Trails Committee also added website language about legal trails and prohibiting motorized vehicles, and the board agreed to pursue signage for trails.
