Tunbridge Selectboard adopts drug and alcohol policy requiring supervisor training

The Selectboard reviewed and adopted a new Drug and Alcohol Policy at the May 12 meeting. Becky Hoyt presented the policy and explained it requires a supervisor or designated person to take a training class to be able to identify if someone is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
O’Brien moved to adopt the policy; Mullen seconded and the motion passed by unanimous voice (recorded in the minutes as "All aye. So moved."). The minutes state that if an employee appears under the influence the matter will be brought to the Selectboard for further consideration and potential action.
The board did not record a roll-call vote or attach implementation timelines; staff were directed to incorporate training plans and next steps into personnel procedures.
