Harwich officials press county on Chapter 40B limits and Cape Cod Commission role

Bergstrom suggested two paths: increase local affordable housing to exceed the 10% threshold in some towns, or seek legislative amendments mirroring efforts on Martha's Vineyard, which is engaged in litigation and potential legislative remedies.
The discussion concluded with mutual interest in further dialogue. Commissioners recommended participation by select boards in the Cape and Islands Municipal Leaders Association and pledged to pursue additional conversations to clarify roles and identify coordinated approaches short of immediate statutory change.
