The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Board of Education voted to move into executive session at 6:33 p.m. during a special meeting Aug. 26, 2024, citing personnel and attorney–client privilege as the subjects for closed deliberations. The motion was made by Mr. Grant and recorded as seconded by Mr. Page; the minutes state the board took the action by unanimous roll call vote.
The formal resolution recited the Open Public Meetings Act: "WHEREAS, the Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq., (the "Act") provides that the Rumson-Fair Haven Board of Education may hold an 'Executive Session' from which the public is excluded..." and said the executive session was estimated to last 90 minutes, after which public business could resume. The minutes note that the business administrator recommended the executive session but do not record the substance of the closed discussion. The board returned to open public session at 8:14 p.m. and adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
