The council discussed paying janitorial staff hourly when event-driven cleaning increases demand, or keeping a flat monthly stipend with supplemental payments for extra cleans; staff suggested a flat $50 supplement for event cleans would complicate payroll, so the hourly option was left open.
The motion passed with a second and council directed staff to include the raises in current budgets where possible and to prepare recommendations for the salary study period.
