Woodford County approves $16,500 from opioid settlement for three net recovery devices

The Woodford County Fiscal Court approved an ASAP board request to purchase three additional net recovery devices and related tracking workstations, allocating $16,500 from opioid settlement funds for the county's share. Director Bailey told the court the devices are effective and in demand: "We have found that our net recovery device that we've been using is working extremely well, and we have used all the ones that we have," Bailey said.
The court motion split the $33,000 total purchase between the county and city to reach six devices in the area; the county's approved allocation is $16,500 from opioid abatement funds. The judge also authorized issuance of checks from the opioid settlement account to cover the allocation and referenced ongoing work to hire a jointly funded opioid/substance-abuse coordinator who is in the interview process.
