Woodford County to pursue resolution to fund Community Household Pantry

Representatives from the Community Household Pantry told the fiscal court they have served 2,096 county residents since beginning operations and distribute hygiene and household items monthly from Versace Presbyterian Church. "Since then, we have served 2,096 individuals here in County," Megan Hoover said, describing distribution practices and volunteer support.
Drew Chandler of the Woodford County Foundation explained that the foundation can support the pantry but would need direction about using appropriated funds in a subrecipient model or making the pantry a direct recipient. The court directed staff to prepare a resolution to include the pantry in the foundation appropriation at the August 11 meeting; the motion to include the pantry in that resolution carried unanimously.
Pantry volunteers emphasized they do not qualify for federal or state grants and rely on local donations and partner organizations to maintain operations.
