OHA approves FY27 CIP reassignment and grant awards, trustees press staff on project details

Budget and grants staff told trustees they adjusted applicant requests after due diligence to remove non-CIP costs and to focus awards on capital-eligible items such as rebuilding rock walls and clearing pathways. As staff explained, "we did adjust down their request to the amount you see before you," reflecting removal of programmatic items like shirts or docent training from the CIP budget. Trustees asked for clarity about what activities the awards will fund before contracts are executed; staff said final eligibility checks, budgets and contracts remain conditions of award.
The reassignment motion and subsequent grant approvals were taken by roll call; the reassignment passed 9–0 and the grant awards recorded 9 yes votes on final action. Trustees said deferred awards will be returned to the BNF committee for further review where appropriate.
