Trustee seeks larger Colburn Park sign and other park improvements

Trustee Todd Lawson told the board that Sangamon County recently installed a Colburn Park sign on Main Street just before Witt Street but that the sign should be larger and additional wayfinding is needed to help visitors locate the park.
Lawson said new entrance signs for the two baseball fields are completed and he will contact Public Works Superintendent Langenfeld to schedule installation. He also reported plans to contact the appropriate party about drainage concerns at the park and to review sidewalks village‑wide with Trustee Rose Mann to identify sections needing repair. Lawson raised a safety concern about a rock pile at the west‑end park that children climb on with four‑wheelers and said he would pursue lowering the pile.
