Lynwood police report 1,041 calls since Sept. 10, 12 arrests and four guns recovered

Chief Thomas provided the police report at the Sept. 24 board meeting. He summarized activity since the prior meeting: 1,041 calls for service, 169 traffic stops, 12 arrests, four firearms recovered, 452 building checks, 15 domestic incidents and 146 ordinance violations.
The department is conducting a child-safety-seat campaign through Sept. 30; at a recent free car-seat check at The Children's Place daycare the department provided 13 new child car seats to families in need. Chief Thomas also noted the Cops & Bobbers community event was postponed because of weather and lake conditions, and that the department is accepting applications for new and lateral police officers (applications due Sept. 27).
