Lynwood board approves EMS reimbursement agreement with state

The Village of Lynwood Board of Trustees voted Sept. 24 to approve Resolution #24-20, an intergovernmental reimbursement agreement with the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services for advance life-support and basic life-support emergency ground ambulance services.
Trustee Lilly moved to approve the measure in a second reading and Trustee Clark seconded; the roll-call vote recorded ayes from Trustees Eaves, Lilly, Blakey, Clark and Marshall, with Trustee Dunlap absent. The motion carried.
Attorney Boyle explained the resolution implements a state reimbursement program that routes Medicare and Medicaid funds to participating municipalities to cover a greater share of emergency ground-ambulance costs. The board did not set an effective date at the meeting and offered no further amendments.
The resolution was introduced during the ordinances and resolutions portion of the agenda and followed routine staff explanation and legal counsel review. The board gave unanimous approval among members present.
