Selectboard Chair Chuck Martel reported the new fire truck is estimated at just under $600,000 and that Fayston’s share would be about $240,000. “The new truck is estimated at just under $600,000. Our share would be $240,000,” he said, and the board noted the purchase is not due until 2027.
At a recent joint meeting the board learned the firehouse needs a new heating system and an upgraded electrical panel; Chuck said the electrical-panel rough quote was about $5,300 and Ron Graves reported he had spoken with someone who recently replaced Cambridge Fire Dept.’s heating system for about $50,000. Ron said that because the truck payment is later, the Fire Equipment Reserve should remain workable, and the board asked Clerk Madison Vasseur to confirm scheduling details with York from Waitsfield so the budget line item timing can be clarified.
