Paducah outlines schedule for Noble Park 100th anniversary events; pool to close Aug. 2

Taylor Morsing presented the program for the 100th anniversary of Bob Noble Park, which the city said opened in 1926. The celebration runs July 30 through Aug. 2 and will begin Thursday, July 30, with an opening ceremony at 3 p.m. at Shelter 10, a public farmers market with 26 vendors from 3:30–6:30 p.m., and an outdoor movie (Back to the Future) around 8 p.m. Friday features the summer music series with jazz patrol and the Paducah Community Band. Saturday’s schedule includes yoga at 8 a.m., a Greenway Trail fun run at 9 a.m., a history talk at 10 a.m., family activities, and free amusement rides from 4–8 p.m.; the first 100 people at the opening ceremony will receive a giveaway. Taylor also said the Noble Park Pool will have half‑price admission Sunday and that the pool will close for the season on Aug. 2.

Taylor highlighted tree‑planting sponsorships for a goal of planting 100 trees to commemorate the centennial and described a time capsule to include local menus, a park map, and event photos. The commission thanked staff and several commissioners pledged sponsorships for tree plantings.
