Salina Board adopts open‑records, due‑process and new Behavioral Threat Assessment policies

The same board action also approved two new policies, CKAK (Behavioral Threat Assessment) and CKAK‑E (Behavioral Threat Assessment Checklist). The votes were recorded as yes from Casey McWhirt, Jarred Sorum, Jackie Ball and Leroy Monk; Greg Rice was absent.
Board members discussed the policies as part of the regular agenda; the minutes record adoption but do not include the full policy texts. School administration will incorporate the approved policies into district procedures and notify staff of new Behavioral Threat Assessment protocols and the accompanying checklist.
