At 6:19 p.m. on Nov. 10 the Salina Board of Education adjourned to executive session under Oklahoma law (Okla. Stat. Title 25, § 307(B)(1)) to discuss three personnel topics: (a) employment of a paraprofessional initially assigned to Salina Middle School, (b) appointment of individual employees, and (c) any letters of resignation presented since the last meeting. Those present in executive session were Members Casey McWhirt and Jarred Sorum, Clerk Jackie Ball and Superintendent Cathy Harmon. The board stated only agenda items (a)–(c) were discussed and no votes were taken in executive session.
After returning to open session at 6:35 p.m., the board voted to hire Brad Lane as a part‑time temporary custodian at $11.41 per hour with no benefits. Member Casey McWhirt moved the hire; Jackie Ball seconded. The motion carried 3–0 (McWhirt, Sorum, Ball voting yes; Rice and Monk absent). Items listed on the agenda for reassigning staff, letters of resignation and new business were noted but received no action during the meeting.
