Council and staff used the work session to resolve operational details for Sunset Fun Days, scheduled for two weeks after the July 7 meeting. Public Works Director Jason Monroe reviewed the skate competition (prizes, judges, DJ) and confirmed bleacher placement; he said the movie would begin "after dark, estimating approximately 9:15 p.m." and noted that inflatable attractions and vendors might remain until about 10:30 p.m.
Saturday activities were discussed in detail: a 5K with registration beginning at 6:30 a.m. (eight preregistered entrants reported), a community breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m., parade logistics (approximately 20 registered entries, Grand Marshal outreach to Chad Bangerter with a backup to be identified), and an expanded car show using a new QR-based People's Choice voting system (personalized QR codes for preregistered vehicles; generic QR for day-of registrants). Staff and council also adjusted vendor and car-show layouts to increase pedestrian flow and seating views for the fireworks, which were planned to begin at 10 p.m.
Council discussed band payments, merchandise tables, cornhole tournament placement and commemorative mugs for prizes. Recorder Nicole Supp, Director Monroe and Council Member Katherine Hunter agreed to coordinate final vendor placement, volunteer assignments and registration materials prior to the event.
