The St. George City Council approved Ordinance 2026-0051 to vacate roughly 613 feet of platted right-of-way at the south end of Desert Color Parkway to allow a roadway realignment for a planned clinic or hospital. Planner Cameron told the council the red and purple portions shown on the map mark the area to be vacated and that the city will later re-dedicate the roadway in the new alignment.
Cameron said the vacation "is to realign the roadway" and explained that a preliminary plat is in place and the new dedication will encompass the vacated area. Council members pressed staff about property ownership; staff said Intermountain Health appears to own the surrounding parcels but that ownership at the far south end had not been fully verified. Austin Anderson moved to approve the ordinance conditioned on dedication of the new right-of-way; Steve Kemp seconded, and the motion carried on a roll-call vote announced by the mayor.
