Rural Story County Alliance highlights housing wins, childcare study and community projects

Jennifer Linguist Otto presented a quarterly outreach report for the Rural Story County Alliance, highlighting housing and community projects across small towns. Highlights included a transfer and restoration event in Colo, a Keystone single-family home sale, Keystone subdivision construction in Roland (phase 1: 18 units of 54 planned) and three workforce-housing tax-credit applications representing 29 new housing units across Story County.
Jennifer also reviewed community development activity: Cambridge is updating zoning maps and ordinances, McCallsburg sold homes under the Homes for Iowa program, and Story County Medical Center’s summer food program provided services estimated to reach more than 35% of children in the Collins-Maxwell School District. "We assisted with 3 workforce housing tax credit applications representing 29 new housing units across Story County," she told supervisors. The board asked no follow-up motions; the items were received for information.
