Fayston group to host Bear Fair May 2 to promote living with wildlife

The Fayston Conservation Commission said it is helping plan a Bear Fair at the MRV Welcome Center on May 2 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., collocated with the Green Valley Rally. The outreach will focus on practical ways to live with bears, including information on garbage management, fencing, and protecting chickens and beehives.
The commission noted that Bear Haiku programming at local libraries will continue for poetry month and that intern Casey Klus has been assisting with fair preparations. The Fair is intended to give landowners and residents concrete steps to reduce human–bear conflict ahead of the summer season.
