Caleb Patterson, the town’s newly appointed manager, introduced himself to the Board of Trustees and asked trustees to provide prioritized goals so staff and the board can align on realistic time frames. "One was public safety. The number two goal was I put transparent effective governance," Patterson said as he outlined an initial goals worksheet he distributed to trustees.
Patterson, who said he has begun reviewing the town chart of accounts, told the board he believes the town has too many line items for an ~$800,000 budget and will work with staff and the auditor to consolidate accounts. He proposed standardizing reporting formats and requested department reports be submitted at least one week before meetings so trustees have time to review materials. Trustees agreed to schedule a work session in the coming weeks to set board priorities and finalize goals for the manager.
