Board approves PPRTA IGA to fund bridge design work, enabling 2025 reimbursement

The Green Mountain Falls Board of Trustees approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Pikes Peak Regional Transportation Authority (PPRTA) that allows the town to incur engineering costs in 2024 and seek reimbursement in 2025. Staff said the agreement will fund preliminary design and cost estimating needed to apply for federal or state bridge investment grants.
Chair and staff framed the IGA as a mechanism to pay for early engineering and then request reimbursement next year from the RTA program. Trustees noted prior approval to spend up to $10,000 for preliminary design work and said combining multiple funding streams (RTA match, state local-match assistance) will be necessary for the expected bridge project, which trustees earlier estimated could cost between $2 million and $3 million. A motion to approve the PPRTA IGA passed by voice vote.
