Board signs off on neighborhood-movies closure and overnight lighting adjustments

The Board approved a request to close a segment of the North Service Drive for a neighborhood-movies event at Elstral Plaza, now scheduled for Aug. 8.
Chair raised a time-correction issue, asking staff to change the time listed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. “So if you would change that on your agenda and and just change that to PM,” the Chair said. Burns told the Board the Park Department had rescheduled the event because of weather and that RP&L had been contacted to turn off several street lights overnight to accommodate the showing and cleanup.
A motion to approve the closure and related arrangements was moved and seconded and carried by voice vote.
