She said the average time to close a request is 33 days and that about 55% of requests are closed within five business days.
Mays attributed the improvement to standardized processes and the GovQA tracking system, which consolidates search documentation, redaction workflows and communications. She said open request volume averages about 230 on any given day and that the number of requests more than a year old decreased from 42 to 21 year‑over‑year. "The average days that it takes us to close a request is 33, which is actually really good," Mays said.
