Board approves minutes, personnel, finance and contracts at Sept. 24 meeting

The Rumson‑Fair Haven Regional High School Board of Education met Sept. 24 in the district Learning Commons and approved a slate of routine and substantive business items, including prior meeting minutes, personnel changes, finance reports and multiple contracts and event approvals. Board President Mrs. McGinty called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m., and the board later moved into executive session on personnel and attorney/client matters before returning to public session at 9:00 p.m.

Acting Superintendent and Board Secretary Sean S. Cranston certified pursuant to 6A:23A‑16.10(c)3 that “no line item has been over expended” and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district’s obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. The board approved the bill lists dated Sept. 20, 2024, which show total expenditures of $1,489,020.68 and payroll for Sept. 13, 2024 of $650,133.92. Finance items, personnel items and addendum contracts were passed by unanimous roll-call votes with each listed member recorded as voting Yes.

Key formal actions recorded in the minutes included approval of the Sept. 10, 2024 regular meeting minutes, adoption of personnel items (including hires, leave-date amendments and substitute approvals), approval of the 2025–26 Budget Calendar, and authorization of contracts and event arrangements for the 2024–25 school year. The board approved an addendum contract for ice time with RB Generals Hockey Club LLC for $32,887.50 pending scheduling, and approved contracts for prom venues, Future Design School professional development ($22,500), and pool rental with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Monmouth County for $8,533 for the season.

The board recorded no public comments on agenda items during the meeting and adjourned at 9:01 p.m.
