Trustees praise Red Cross, Team Rubicon for home-fire work; about half a dozen homes still incomplete

Trustee (speaker 4) told the board the town participated in an American Red Cross pilot that targeted roughly 25 homes for home-fire education, smoke-alarm installs and a home ignition-zone assessment and that a contractor, Team Rubicon, performed mitigation work. "There's still approximately 0.5 a dozen homes that are deficient from where a commitment was made through the American Red Cross program," Trustee (speaker 4) said, and described three options for addressing the remaining work: invite Team Rubicon back, address the remaining tasks with town resources and volunteers, or accept the shortfall.
Resident Anne Ash, who took part in the program, thanked volunteers and described positive interactions with crews. "I really enjoyed meeting everybody," Ash said. Trustees said they and staff will coordinate with the town’s FMAC committee and with Team Rubicon to determine the most efficient next step and will report back at an upcoming meeting.
