Two related topics came up in public testimony: code table changes for electric-vehicle (EV) infrastructure and how accessible EV spaces are counted.
Deepa Subrajan (Climate Solutions) recommended increasing EV-ready spaces from the proposed 10% back to 15% and raising EV-capable spaces to 75% so that the total proportion of parking prepared for future EV charging would reach 100%. Richard Williams (CWA Consultants) recommended reducing some required percentages in a separate proposal but principally urged clearer language so that required accessible EV spaces count toward totals and warned that removing state EV signage from accessible parking could raise ADA concerns.
