City Manager Mike Vaughan told the council on March 12 that code‑enforcement activity has been robust in the last 30–45 days. He said a recent abatement hearing covered 17 properties; 12 properties were scheduled for demolition and owners have 45 days to remedy issues before the city proceeds. Vaughan said 3–4 of the properties are expected to be self‑abated by their owners.
Officials described the abatements as contributing to visible improvements in neighborhood appearance. No council action beyond the report was requested or taken at the meeting.
