UN strongly condemns missile and drone attacks on Kyiv, details humanitarian response

The United Nations said the secretary‑general ‘‘strongly condemns’’ the latest overnight missile and drone attack by Russian forces on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, calling any attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure ‘‘a clear violation of international humanitarian law and must stop immediately.’’ Farhan, the UN briefing moderator, repeated the call for ‘‘urgent de‑escalation leading to a full, immediate, and unconditional ceasefire.’’
The spokesman said the UN human rights monitoring mission is at attack sites to verify reports and that partners on the ground — including the Ukrainian Red Cross and NGOs supported by UN agencies — mobilized first aid, psychosocial support and emergency shelter. He said aid partners reached nearly 2,500,000 people with at least one form of assistance in the first half of the year and that a recent convoy carried medical and hygiene supplies to frontline Dnieper communities.
