Councilman Gordon said, "option 3 is move the new fueling site to the DPW garage at Brooks Flat, in accordance with the quote we were provided." Mayor George P. Hutnick emphasized security and logistics improvements, adding, "we are going to change the security cameras to point directly at the tanks." The council also noted plans to install gates at the DPW to secure the site.
Council members debated site placement after reviewing quotes and operational impacts. Councilman DeMeo raised cost sensitivity but said relocating to DPW made practical sense; the council voted unanimously (Yeas: Cowdrick, DeMeo, Gandarinho, Gordon, Lame; Absent: Ciasullo) to adopt the DPW location. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gandarinho.
The action will be incorporated into upcoming bond/budget work for capital items, which the clerk and CFO will coordinate with the borough engineer for contractual and funding details.
