Lynwood Fire Department reports 57 calls; open house planned for Oct. 12

Fire Chief LaShaun Alston told the board the Lynwood Fire Department responded to 57 calls since the prior meeting, including 34 ambulance calls, one vehicle fire, one building fire, one accident with injury and multiple assists. The department logged six unintentional alarms and other special incidents during the period.
Chief Alston reminded residents that Fire Prevention Week runs Oct. 6–12 and invited the public to an open house on Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The department also noted the planned softball tournament at Dyer Central Park had been cancelled.
