Lynwood police report 1,052 calls, 192 traffic stops and a narcotics/gun arrest

Chief Thomas told the board the department logged 1,052 calls for service since Sept. 24, including 192 traffic stops, six arrests and four guns recovered; a Depew stop produced a gun, cannabis and about 20 grams of heroin (charged Felony Agg. UUW). Officers will run a STEP Halloween campaign from Oct. 18–Nov. 1 and conduct sex-offender compliance checks.
Chief Thomas presented the Police Department report, saying the department recorded 1,052 calls for service since the last meeting on Sept. 24. The activity list included 192 traffic stops, six arrests and recovery of four firearms; officers logged 440 building checks and 112 ordinance violations. Chief Thomas also reported a Depew traffic stop that produced a gun, cannabis and about 20 grams of heroin; the case was charged as Felony Agg. UUW.
Chief Thomas said officers will conduct a STEP Halloween campaign Oct. 18–Nov. 1 and will perform compliance checks with registered sex offenders to advise on laws pertaining to Halloween and Christmas. The department also reported participation in Cops & Bobbers at Oktoberfest and thanked volunteers for assistance.
