PLDRC backs expansion of Fire Station 22, extends setback variance to Dec. 2026

Volusia County representatives said the work adds dormitory space, a new 800‑amp service, a replaced generator, updated fire alarm and sprinkler systems, BDA radio updates and improved site paving and landscaping. "Volusia County Fire Station 22 has been at this location for many decades," Luke Kulich of Zevcon & Associates said, emphasizing the project's operational and personnel benefits. Commissioners expressed clear support, noting the need to modernize the station for firefighter health and readiness.
The committee moved to approve the plan and to extend the variance timeline contingent on satisfaction of TRC comments and permitting requirements; roll call was unanimous in favor.
