Commissioners reviewed logistics for permit checks in advance of the Saint Martin's Fair and agreed to meet at the police station at 10:00 a.m. the Sunday before the event. Rosemarie Bosch described the practical steps: teams will verify each vendor’s permit matches their frontage and activity, and will flag food vendors for health‑department inspection.
"What that means is that we usually go in groups... we check to make sure everybody has the footage that they say," Rosemarie Bosch said, describing how a 15‑foot permit may be insufficient if a vendor has 50 feet of frontage. Commissioners said they will pair experienced volunteers with new helpers and try to form four pairs if enough people are available; the typical complement is six people. The commission also confirmed that background checks must be handled at the police station and that officers will coordinate with the clerk’s office to process late applicants.
